Guinness World Records for the Bearing Industry

The world's smallest steel ball bearing

In Tokyo, Japan, Maybella Co., Ltd. announced that its steel balls have been awarded the Guinness World Record for the smallest commercial steel ball bearing, with an outer diameter of only 1.4978 millimeters certified by representatives from Guinness World Records Co., Ltd.

Maybella has been trying to prove its ability to produce the smallest mass-produced bearings. In 2009, it successfully broke the barrier of 2mm steel ball bearings and paved the way for this ultra small ball bearing.

This record breaking bearing has an outer diameter of 1.5 millimeters, an inner diameter of 0.5 millimeters, and six steel balls within a width of 0.65 millimeters. Its compactness and accuracy comply with JIS codes.

Yuko Koyama said at the Light Well Ze factory, "The record breaking outer diameter of steel ball bearings with a diameter of 1.5mm is thanks to the efforts of our team throughout the entire production process. I am really happy that bearings are often overlooked. We boldly try to manufacture small-sized bearing sizes and can bring them to the market. It made me realize that hard work pays off, and there is nothing that cannot be achieved."“

The world's smallest fingertip top can be placed on your nails

Fingertip gyroscopes are undoubtedly one of the most popular stress relieving toys of 2017. According to foreign media Cnet, Guinness World Records; The official recently announced the world's smallest fingertip gyroscope. How small is this fingertip gyroscope? You may mistakenly think it's a crumb. This fingertip gyroscope is manufactured by Japanese company MinebeaMitsumi, an electronic and industrial component manufacturer.

MinebeaMitsumi used what Guinness calls the "smallest commercial steel ball bearing" to manufacture this small tool. A team of eight people spent two months building a fingertip gyroscope that was less than a quarter inch (approximately 5.09 millimeters) in length. It has the same function as other fingertip gyroscopes, but you may need a pair of tweezers to pick it up.

Japanese miniature bearings set the Guinness World Record for the longest rotation

The Real Spin Ms micro bearing jointly developed by Japan's Maybella and Mitsubishi Precision has set a Guinness World Record for the longest rotation of micro bearings.

The recognition date of this record is December 11, 2017, with a recognition value of 24 minutes and 46.34 seconds. Founded in 1951, Japan's Meibei Company is a manufacturer of micro ball bearings with ultra precision machining technology and large-scale production capabilities. It is at the forefront of the world in the field of micro or small bearings with an outer diameter of less than 22mm.

Mitsubishi Precision is an enterprise engaged in the development and manufacturing of aerospace equipment, with a history of more than 50 years. Its products involve the development and manufacturing of satellite attitude control equipment, rocket carrying equipment, airborne electronic equipment, various simulators, etc.
