It is said that 20% of the bearing damage occurs when installing deep groove ball bearings in motors. How can we reduce the damage during bearing installation? Below, we will provide a detailed introduction to the specific requirements for the site when installing bearings. The site must be kept dry and clean, and iron filings, sand, dust, moisture, etc. must be strictly prevented from entering the bearings.


The commonly used installation tools for deep groove bearings in motors include hand hammers, copper bars, sleeves, special pads, screw clamps, and presses. The measurement includes vernier calipers, micrometers, and micrometers, but different tools should be selected according to different bearing models.


After selecting the correct tools, the bearings can be installed. During installation, attention should be paid to the presence of scratches, rust layers, debris, sand, dust, and soil. If there are any, it will cause installation difficulties. It is necessary to keep the assembly surface of the imported bearings and the surfaces of the parts that match them clean.


In addition to cleaning the assembly surface of rolling bearings and the surfaces of matching parts, attention should also be paid to whether there is rust layer on the surface of the shaft neck, bearing housing hole, shoulder end face, and connecting parts such as bushings, washers, end caps, etc? If available, you can use a fine file, sandpaper to polish it, and then proceed with installation.

The installation and disassembly of bearings require frequent disassembly and installation in specific application scenarios to ensure that they can be inspected and repaired according to their location. Bearings that can be installed separately on the inner and outer rings, such as cylindrical bearings, needle roller bearings, and tapered bearings, are very suitable for this situation. The automatic self-aligning ball bearings with tapered holes and automatic self-aligning roller bearings, with the assistance of the shaft sleeve, also simplify the installation process.

In some cases, rolling bearings require preloading to increase rigidity. This program is commonly used for deep groove ball bearings, radial thrust ball bearings, and tapered roller bearings where the inner and outer rings are offset, the shaft is bent, the tolerance of the shaft or bearing housing changes, and fitting errors can all cause eccentricity of the inner and outer rings. To prevent excessive eccentricity, automatic self-aligning ball bearings, automatic self-aligning roller bearings, or self-aligning bearing seats are the preferred choices. Voice frequency and torque, as well as dynamic bearings, are manufactured based on high-precision scales, resulting in low voice and torque. The combination of deep groove ball bearings and cylindrical roller bearings is suitable for situations with special requirements for low noise and low torque.
